Berklee Student Seamus Guy to Perform at Country LakeShake

The Richmond, VA, native will play at the country music festival in Chicago headlined by Blake Shelton and Dierks Bentley.

Boston-based Americana band Jacksonville Kid, featuring Berklee College of Music student Seamus Guy of Richmond, VA, will perform at summer music festival Country LakeShake, in Chicago, on Sunday, June 24. The festival is headlined by Blake Shelton, Dierks Bentley, and Florida Georgia Line.

Jacksonville Kid melds together folk, rock, Americana, indie, and soul music into a sound they like to call "folk-swamp.” The group is an energy-packed experience that pairs dueling fiddle and electric guitar parts with folksy-driven songwriting and heartfelt melodies. Jacksonville Kid also features students Ian Schaid, Jacob Allen, and Victor Pacek.

The gig comes through Berklee’s Popular Music Institute (BPMI), which gives students important performance experience and prepares them for the evolving music landscape – where festivals are booming. Students also gain experience at each festival handling on-site promotion, production and tour management.
