Halloween Tech Tips from AT&T

AT&T has a few suggestions on how to have a fun, but safe Halloween this year

With Halloween just around the corner, it's time to load up the smartphone with some spooky selfies and haunted sounds to play when trick-or-treaters come knocking. AT&T offers a few apps that are full of devilish delights this Halloween season.

Halloween Wallpapers and Backgrounds App (FREE) iOS – This app has a great range of high definition Halloween wallpapers, screensavers and backgrounds for your smartphone. The collection is easy to navigate, and the occasional pop-up advert is simple to dismiss. Images can be screen-grabbed or saved to your camera roll. This app is iOS-only, there is a similar Android app called Halloween Wallpaper also offering a wide collection of images to pick from.

Spooky Box App (FREE) iOS and Android – Halloween wouldn't be complete without the sounds of screams, chainsaws, clowns laughing, organs playing, and clocks chiming, there’s an app called Spooky Box. This app contains 96 different sounds to play with a tap. Hook up your phone to a Bluetooth speaker by the front door for maximum effect.

Zombie Face App (FREE) iOS and Android – The premise here is simple, but well executed. Snap a selfie — or pick a photo from your image library — then apply one of this app's spooky Halloween faces to your own. You can adjust the position, size, orientation and opacity of each face to make it look as realistic as possible. There are 35 faces to select from, plus another 50 to unlock through an in-app purchase. Images can be shared from within the app, or simply take a screenshot, crop the image, then send it to you friends.

MamaBear App (FREE) iOS and Android – No matter how old the kids get, you want to protect them. With MamaBear you can manage your child's safety this Halloween if they'll be away from the "den." Not only can you track their location as they trick-or-treat as well as receive arrival and departure notices, but you can monitor their social media use, text messaging, and keep a group family chat going so everyone's in the loop. This all-around family management app provides safety in more ways than one, keeping every Mama (and Papa) Bear sure their kids are safer this season.
