Richmond School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Richmond is September 5. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Richmond Public School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

• 8/23 - 1/1: Professional Development Days / Workdays / Prep

September

• 9/1: Kindergarten Orientation
• 9/5: First Day of School

October

• 10/11: Early Dismissal

November

• 11/6: Early Dismissal (Parent/Teacher Conferences)
• 11/7: No School for Students (Parent/Teacher Conferences)
• 11/22 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving)

December

• 12/18 - 12/29: No School (Winter Break)

January

• 1/1: No School (New Year's Day)
• 1/15: No School (Martin Luther King Jr. Day)
• 1/29: Early Dismissal

February

• 2/1: No School for Students (Teacher Workday)
• 2/19: No School (Presidents' Day)

March

• 3/3: Early Dismissal (Parent/Teacher Conferences)

April

• 4/2 - 4/6: No School (Spring Break)
• 4/12: Early Dismissal

May

• 5/28: No School (Memorial Day)

June

• 6/8: Last Day for Seniors
• 6/15: Last Day for Students
• 6/18 - 6/19: Teacher Workdays
