No Shots Fired Near Henrico School, No Injuries: Police
Henrico County Police investigated a report of a shooter near a school Monday, but say there were no shots fired.
RICHMOND, VA — Henrico County Police investigated a report of a shooter near a school, but say there were no shots fired and no injuries in what may have been a hoax. Just before 12:30 p.m. Monday, officials said that police were on the scene at Moody Middle School in the 7800 block of Woodman Road.
A call via text to 9-1-1 reported an active shooter in the area. Henrico police cleared the school to ensure everyone's safety, the department said via Twitter.
All Moody students are safe and there is no indication any students are hurt, the Henrico school system tweeted. "There is a heavy police presence at the school, and students are in their classrooms while police complete a search," the schools said.

Parents were allowed to pick up their children about 1 p.m., although the school day went on. Students were sent home by bus on their normal schedule.
Henrico Police completed their search of the building and the school is considered safe, school officials said at 2:50 p.m. All Moody Middle School after-school activities were canceled for the day.

"Again we appreciate the community's understanding and support while first responders and schools work together ensuring everyone safety," police said.
Woodman Road between Lourdes Road and Norman Avenue was closed to through traffic while first responders cleared the scene but reopened about 2 p.m.
