Video And Information Sought For Tire Slashing Investigations In Richmond

Fourth Precinct detectives have been canvassing the neighborhood to gather reports and information.

Richmond Police detectives are asking the public for information and images from surveillance cameras that can help detectives identify those suspected of slashing vehicle tires in a Northside neighborhood over the weekend.

From approximately 1 a.m. – 5 a.m. on Saturday, June 5, unknown persons slashed tires on over 30 vehicles in the Highland Park Southern Tip neighborhood. The suspects damaged vehicles parked on the street, in alleys and backyards on Third Avenue, Fourth Avenue and Fifth Avenue in the 2200 to 2500 blocks. There may be damage to other vehicles that have not yet been noticed or reported. In that same timeframe, property was stolen from at least one vehicle in the area and one vehicle was reported stolen from the 2300 block of Fifth Avenue. Fourth Precinct detectives have been canvassing the neighborhood to gather reports and information. Detectives ask
anyone with surveillance cameras which may have captured images of the possible suspects and activity during those early-morning hours to contact the precinct.
