Wedding Held Outside Senior Center So Grandma Could Watch
Virginia Whitlock and Harvey Sydnor planned a second wedding ceremony, one at the Winsor Senior Center, for Whitlock's grandmother.
RICHMOND, VA — When Virginia Whitlock and Harvey Sydnor got married in Palmyra in October, there was one close family member who was unable to witness the cherished moment.
But Whitlock's grandmother, who lives in the Winsor Senior Center in Richmond and couldn't make the ceremony due to the COVID-19 pandemic, had the cherished moment brought right to her a few weeks later.
Staff members in the living facility organized a second ceremony for the newlywed couple right outside the senior center's front door, with the grandmother watching from behind a window.
