Clear Skies to Follow Monday Storms: Weekly Weather Report

After thunderstorms pass through the Tysons Corner area on Monday afternoon, the weather is projected to take a turn for the better.

The final week of August will begin with afternoon thunderstorms throughout the Northern Virginia region, but once those storms pass the weather is projected to be quite lovely.

Clear skies dominate the week’s forecast beginning Tuesday, and highs each day range from the low- to mid-80s. Monday’s storms are expected to begin in the late afternoon, likely after 4 p.m., and it’s expected they’ll pass by 10 p.m. Monday evening.

Monday: Scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 4 p.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 89. South wind 5 to 7 mph becoming light and variable in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Monday night: Scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 10 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 67. Southwest wind around 6 mph becoming northwest after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 79. Northwest wind around 6 to 8 mph.

Tuesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 64. Northwest wind around 6 mph.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 80. Northwest wind 3 to 6 mph.

Wednesday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 63.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 80.

Thursday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 61.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 82.

Friday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 63.
