Marshall High Teachers Treated to Lunch by Vienna Restaurants!

One Neighborhood Foundation and Rustic Love Vienna Host Event

The halls of George C. Marshall (GCM) High School in Tysons were filled with love and delicious smells Wednesday, March 24. Local Vienna, VA restaurants partnered with One Neighborhood Foundation and Rustic Love Vienna to treat every teacher, staff, admin, custodian, bus driver, cafeteria server and counselor to a fabulous hot lunch! The GCM PTSA coordinated efforts by providing volunteers to pick up the food and serve at the school.

The teachers were so honored to be treated to individually boxed hot meals (and ice cream) by local Vienna establishments Bansari Indian Cuisine, Ben & Jerry’s Vienna, Inca Social and Side Street & Sushi Bar by I-Thai. These tantalizing choices made for some serious academic debate for teachers over which one to select. We have to admit that several wandered back for a second try! The GCM educators have worked so hard over the last year to reach and engage students remotely through the COVID pandemic. This outpouring of love and support from our Town of Vienna and Tysons residents and businesses to the school was received with sincere gratitude and delight.

One Neighborhood Foundation, a non-profit started by local realtor Lydia Russo in 2020, has organized countless donations to area residents, first responders and businesses in need. In partnership with the hugely popular Facebook Group, ViennaVAFoodies, they solicit donations from the community to support restaurants and provide meals to frontliners, first responders, essential workers, and local heroes. Rustic Love Vienna is a local non-profit that sells hand-made wooden heart lawn signs with proceeds donated to local organizations who help struggling area restaurants, who then use the funds to serve meals to area first responders and food-insecure families.
