Strong Thunderstorms Heading for Fairfax County: NWS Reports
The string of storms could include wind gusts up to 40 miles per hour and pea-sized hail.

The National Weather Service is alerting residents in Fairfax County of a “line of strong thunderstorms moving East toward the I-95 corridor.”
The short-term forecast was issued at 1:37 p.m. and warned of the line of storms extending from near New Freedom to eight miles south of Linton Hall, moving East at 25 miles per hour.
Winds could exceed 40 miles per hour and pea-sized hail is possible with these storms, the NWS reported.

The NWS also issued a hazardous weather outlook Thursday morning regarding the storms.
