Temperatures Continue to Drop, Rain Persists Early in the Week

Temperatures throughout the Tysons Corner area continue to drop as the calendar shifts away from the summer and deeper into the fall months.

No high this week will hit the 80-degree mark, while lows will remain consistently in the 50s. The week will begin with its coldest day on Monday, with the high projected to only hit 68 degrees.

While that cool weather settles into the area, so too will some rainfall. The wet weather will begin on Monday afternoon, and will continue into Tuesday morning with a chance for storms on Monday night.

By Tuesday afternoon, the skies should clear and make way for clear weather the remainder of the week.

Monday: A chance of rain, mainly after 3 p.m. Cloudy, with a high near 67. Northeast wind 7 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Monday night: A chance of rain, mainly before midnight. Cloudy, with a low around 59. Northeast wind 8 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.

Tuesday: A slight chance of rain before noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 74. North wind around 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Tuesday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 54. North wind 5 to 8 mph.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 79. North wind around 7 mph.

Wednesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 56.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 78.

Thursday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 59.

Friday: Partly sunny, with a high near 76.

Friday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 57.
