Thunderstorms in Thursday Forecast for Tysons Corner
Storms could bring the risk of damaging winds, flash flooding and even hail to the area.

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook in the Northern Virginia area calling for severe thunderstorms Thursday afternoon and evening.
“There is a slight risk of severe thunderstorms this afternoon into tonight,” reads the alert. “Some storms may become severe with damaging winds, large hail and isolated tornadoes. Thunderstorms will also contain very heavy rain which may lead to localized flash flooding.”
The alert, which also pertains to parts of the Chesapeake and the District of Columbia, was delivered by the NWS early Thursday morning, and the local forecast calls for at least a 60 percent chance of precipitation from 6 p.m. until 3 a.m. Friday morning.
