Tysons Employers Among Top Workplaces For 2018

TYSONS, VA—Tysons Corner employers are among the top workplaces in the region, according to The Washington Post's new annual ranking.

The Post ranked 150 companies based on the highest ratings from employees. After the public nominated companies with at least 50 employees in the fall, 2,807 DC area employers were invited to take an employee survey. The survey looked at 24 factors, from effectiveness to managers and engagement. 341 companies in all took the survey.

Ranking first was Appian, a Reston-based business process management platform company that announced it will move its headquarters to Tysons Corner. Tysons-based software company Cvent was ranked number 13 on the list, and Capital One placed 19th.

Founded in 1999, Cvent has 785 local employees and 2,850 total employees. The company is known to hire employees that can share their entrepreneurial ideas. "The culture is such that any person -- no matter what level -- can walk in to any manager's office and present an idea and be absolutely heard," wrote an employee in the survey.

Financial services behemoth Capital One has 7,400 local employees, 49,300 total employees and "business resource groups" for employees to join.
