Week Ahead: McLean Metro Parking, Dog Illness at the Animal Shelter

Parking at McLean Metro Station: The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors will vote Tuesday on a proposal from CityLine Partners that would add more than 700 interim parking spaces near the McLean Metro Station on Route 123. 

Animal Shelter Halts Dog Intake: The Fairfax County Animal Shelter has temporarily stopped taking in dogs after approximately 12 dogs at the shelter began showing symptoms of an unknown respiratory illness. The cause of the sickness should be determined by Tuesday or Wednesday, according to officials.

Wiffle Ball for a Cause: The 2 Young Foundation is hosting its annual Northern Virginia Wiffle World Series on Saturday, Aug. 3, at Waters Field. The tournament lasts all day, and the proceeds raised at the event will help support brain cancer research and awareness, as well as families affected by the disease.

American Girl Author Visit: At this summer event, your girl can meet author Valerie Tripp, who created many of historical American Girl characters’ books. Stop by the American Girl Store at Tysons Corner Center on July 30th from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
