$1.99 Hot Dog Day Returns To Vienna Inn With Takeout Option
Vienna Inn, which marked its 60th anniversary this year, has seating or takeout available.
VIENNA, VA — In 60 years of business, Vienna Inn has become a favorite among locals for its no-frills service, community support and chili dogs. For fans of the restaurant's staple food, National Hot Dog Day is the opportune time to grab one.
Vienna Inn will mark National Hot Dog Day with $1.99 hot dogs and $2.19 chili dogs on Wednesday, July 22. As the most popular item at the restaurant, over 10,000 hot dogs were typically served each month before the pandemic hit.
"Our younger customers like them plain or with just ketchup, but the majority come in for the famous Chili Cheese Dog complete with cheese, chili, mustard, and onion otherwise known as 'loaded,'" said Marty Volk, owner of Vienna Inn. "They have been very popular with our regulars and include everything you need to create your own Chili Dog at home."

Takeout has become a greater focus at restaurants like the Vienna Inn that adjusted for the pandemic. The Vienna Inn created its make-your-own chili dog kits when indoor dining was restricted. Now the restaurant has limited indoor seating, an outdoor tented seating area called The Outside Inn, and chili dog kits for curbside pickup.
Vienna Inn marked its 60th anniversary in February. Also known as "The Inn" by regulars, it has been frequented by families, local sports teams, business owners, even famous athletes or coaches. The restaurant displays pictures and trophies of local teams it sponsors and children's hand-drawn pictures, illustrating its support for local teams and causes over the years.
