Adrienne McCormick, 65, of Dunn Loring

Adrienne McCormick, 65, of Dunn Loring, Virginia, passed away on October 20, 2020, after a courageous battle with metastatic breast cancer. She is survived by her daughter Carly, husband Brian, and the many, many people she called family and friends.

There is love that is constant, love that fits the occasion, love that is humble, and love that is tall—and then there is Adrienne—her love was all of the above, and it was one size fits all. Adrienne, the skillful weaver—who wove her love, energy, affection, and spirit into us in tight and perfect threads. Adrienne had many legacies, so many connecting threads over the years of her life that spread out to places and people we don’t even know. An unfamiliar observer of her life might conclude that she had one child, in truth she had so many.

Of Adrienne’s many accomplishments, her 19 years as a teacher at Stenwood Elementary was her proudest—here she helped to build a village, a community that continues to serve the students she so loved. A better legacy does not exist than one like this—a spirit that never hid, a laugh that never hushed itself, an enthusiasm never tempered by a quiet room. She will be greatly missed by her community but never forgotten.
