Christine Chambers-Chun Of Vienna
Christine was a longtime Vienna resident who was involved with Vienna Presbyterian Church.

Christine Chambers-Chun passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 8, 2020, at her home in Vienna, VA.
Born in Champaign, Illinois, on March 14, 1958, she is survived by her husband of 34 years,
Jon, and sons, Benjamin (Sarah) and Jason Chun; sisters, Dana (Brian) Hershey, Thelma
Martin and Alora Cope; sister-in-law Mary Chambers, and several nieces and nephews.
She graduated from Rantoul Township High School in 1976 and Illinois State University in 1980 with a Bachelor of Arts in English literature. From there, Chris moved to Omaha, Nebraska, to work for VISTA (domestic Peace Corps) and pursue her Master’s in Public Administration at the
University of Nebraska-Omaha. However, she never got the chance to finish her studies, as life had other plans. During one fateful night in the library, she met her future husband, Jon, and they would begin their courtship and later get married.

Chris and Jon later moved out west to Santa Clara, California, so Jon could attend law school.
Being the strong and caring woman that she was, Chris worked with natural disaster victims for the Red Cross to support Jon and their newborn son, Ben. Following Jon’s graduation from law school, they moved across the country to Washington D.C., where they eventually settled in Vienna, Virginia, to set down their family roots and raise Ben and younger son, Jason. A woman of family and faith, Chris always put the needs of others before her own. She was the office manager at her husband’s law practice and a former Deacon and Usher at Vienna Presbyterian Church.
Due to COVID-19 gathering restrictions, a Memorial service will be arranged at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to a scholarship fund set up in Christine’s name. Since she had a passion for being with people and a gift for serving others, especially at church and the local library, the family hopes to establish a scholarship fund at Vienna Presbyterian Church and Patrick Henry Library for high school students who have volunteered their own time to these organizations.
