Darius Rucker, New Children's Shows On Sale At Wolf Trap

VIENNA, VA — Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts continues to announce new shows for the 2021 season. Tickets for newly announced shows, Darius Rucker and nine new children's shows, went on sale Friday.

Rucker, the vocalist for the group Hootie & the Blowfish, also found success in his solo career with hits like "Wagon Wheel." He will perform at Wolf Trap's Filene Center over Labor Day weekend on Sept. 4.

The nine new children's performances are part of the Children’s Theatre-in-the-Woods series. Performers include Sonia De Los Santos and The Okee Dokee Brothers; Danny Weinkauf and his Red Pants Band; 123 Andrés; Yogapalooza with Bari Koral; Pierce Freelon; Collision of Rhythm; FLY DANCE COMPANY: The Gentlemen of Hip-Hop; Soul In Motion; and Falu.

The show's are part of Wolf Trap's 50th anniversary season. The venue held a 50th anniversary concert on July 1. Other shows feature big-name performers, National Symphony Orchestra appearances, Wolf Trap Opera summer residency, and Children's Theatre-in-the-Woods.

June and July shows are happening with reduced capacity, where attendees purchase tickets for socially-distanced pods of two to eight people. August and September shows will happen at full capacity. Wolf Trap refers to CDC guidance on masks, which recommends people who are not fully vaccinated wear a mask and practice social distancing. Tickets for upcoming shows can be purchased at wolftrap.org. The Filene Center Box Office will not be open for walk-up ticket sales.
