Driver Strikes Barriers, Forcing More Work On Hunter Mill Road
VDOT said work will have to be redone on the Hunter Mill Road bridge over Colvin Run.
WOLF TRAP, VA — Crews are redoing work on a Hunter Mill Road bridge in the Wolf Trap-Reston area Monday after an unknown driver hit barriers, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
VDOT shared a photo of the barriers, which were out of place after the driver struck them on the bridge over Colvin Run. That crash caused water to drain and gravel fill to be washed from around the bridge. Crews found the damage upon returning to lay asphalt.
Hunter Mill Road had been closed for the work between Chamberlain Drive and Mount Sunapee Road from 8 p.m. Feb. 28 to 5 a.m. on Monday, March 2.
