Easter Bunny To Hop Around Vienna In Late March

VIENNA, VA — Even as the COVID-19 pandemic prevents Easter activities from happening normally, there are a few festivities planned in Vienna.

One of the highlights is a visit from the Town of Vienna Easter Bunny around town on Saturday, March 27. The bunny will hop his way from the Vienna Community Center starting at 10 a.m. through all quadrants of the Town of Vienna.

The route will be published through Town of Vienna social media accounts at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 25. Not every street will be covered. Residents are encouraged to set up chairs and blankets along the route with social distancing in mind.

The Vienna Wireless Society will track the bunny's location live on March 27. Location tracking, trivia, prizes, and giveaways will be streamed during the event on Facebook Live.

Another Easter activity is one families can complete on their own time. The Code Create Vienna initiative is hosting a scavenger hunt with 15 bunnies hidden around town. Residents can use the 15 clues to find the bunnies and mark them on the map of the Code Create Vienna field notes. A blank field notes sheet is available as a PDF can be printed.

Participants who find at least 10 bunnies can turn in the completed field notes as an entry. Write your name, address, phone number and email on the field notes and drop it off at one of the designated drop box locations by Friday, April 9. Drop-off locations include Town Hall, 127 Center Street S; Vienna Community Center, 120 Cherry Street SE; Caffe Amouri, 107 Church Street NE; and Simply Social, 260 Cedar Lane SE. Completed entries enter you into a drawing for a $100 gift certificate for a Vienna Parks & Recreation class.

The other activity planned by the Town of Vienna is a do-it-yourself Flashlight Egg Hunt. Orders for DIY kits were due on March 15, and orders will be available for pickup in late March.
