Patch: What attracted you to the line of work you’re in, and how did you get started?
Alonso: I’ve always had an interest in the art of helping people heal, so I thought this was the perfect opportunity to get a little bit of experience in that line of work. Massages help not only heal you physically but mentally, as well. It gives people a little bit of a break from reality and a chance to sit back and enter a state of relaxation, which ultimately leads to a healthier state of mind.
Patch: If you had to sum up your business mission to a stranger, what would you say?
Alonso: Relief, therapeutic, euphoric, caring
Patch: What’s the biggest challenge or most difficult moment you’ve faced in your job?
Alonso: The biggest challenge I have faced is making sure to maintain a relaxing environment in such a fast-paced company. We stay very busy and it's important to provide a relaxing environment to clients before they enter the room for their massage.
Patch: What’s the most satisfying part of your job?
Alonso: The most satisfying part of my job is when people first come out of their massage and are in a daze because of how relaxed they were during their massage, as well as hearing how much they enjoyed their massage and if it helped relieve any pain they had.
Patch: How would you say your business or organization distinguishes itself from the others?
Alonso: We make a real human connection with everyone who comes into our studio. We care about everyone who comes in for a massage, whether it be just for a little bit of relaxation or pain
relief. It is important to get a real understanding of what our clients are looking for! So in order to do that, it’s important to establish a real connection.
Patch: What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given when it comes to success?
Alonso: The best advice on success I have ever received is love what you do. If you are actually enjoying what you are doing at work and have a good time, then is it really a job? Or are you
getting paid to do something that you love? Oftentimes people go into fields that do not bring them happiness nor joy and this leads to people dreading going to work or disliking the people that they work with, etc.
Patch: Are there any new projects or endeavors you’re working on that you’re extra excited about?
Alonso: In the month of August, we are actually adding the cupping technique as one of the modalities that we offer at our studio. This technique is fairly popular amongst professional athletes such as Michael Phelps and a lot of other Olympic gold medalists. We are excited to be able to offer this to our community and hopefully help heal some aching athletes.
Patch: Do you have any events coming up in your community? If so, tell us about them.
Alonso: Elements Massage in Vienna recently merged with the Elements Massage in Ashburn, so we are excited to come together and work on some new exciting projects as a unit.
Patch: How can Patch readers learn more about your work and business?
Alonso: You can learn more about us on our website and we also have a Facebook page, which we keep very up to date on times available with different therapists.
