Here's a list of area cancellations and closings in response to Hurricane Irene:

ALL WEEKEND

• in Arlington 
• Arlington County facilities 
• Northern Virginia Community College: all classes and activities
• Saturday Care Groups and Sunday Morning Services are all cancelled at Faith Baptist Church in Vienna.
• The Reston Zoo

SATURDAY

• Alexandria's West End Farmers Market
• Dale City Neighborhood Library 
• Campaign kickoff for, Fairfax County school board candidate at-large. The new date is 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 2. at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens.
• DC United game against Portland Timbers
• Huntington Community Association's Adopt-a-Highway Cleanup
• T.C. Williams High School Marching Titans car wash (Minnie Howard Campus)
• Good Shepherd Church: Rite of Installation for Father Tom; moved to next Saturday.
• Gadsby's Tavern is closed on Saturday. 
• The Fort Ward Museum will be closed on Saturday and Sunday. 
• The Historic Alexandria History Center & Museum Store will be closed on Saturday and Sunday.
• The 9:30 p.m. show at Jammin' Java in Vienna
• Woodlawn Plantation and the Pope-Leighey House will be closed on Saturday and Sunday.
• The Smart Market at Unity of Fairfax church in Oakton will be open Saturday, but it will close an hour early at 1 p.m.
• The Jimmy Buffett concert tonight at Jiffy Lube Live has been postponed until Thursday.
• Arena Stage is selling returned tickets for half price for tonight’s showing of Oklahoma!
• Mount Vernon Estate closed at 2:30 p.m.

SUNDAY

• Martin Luther King Jr.
• The SOHO Down Concert on the Vienna Town Green, part of the town's Summer On The Green series.
• Occoquan-Woodbridge-Lorton Volunteer Fire Department Bingo Night
• The West End Farmers Market is cancelled. 
• Civil War Sunday at the Alexandria Archaeology Museum is canceled. 
• The Presidential Salon with James Madison at Gadsby's Tavern is canceled. 
• The Journey/Foreigner concert tomorrow at JLL has been postponed until next Sunday, but Foreigner has a conflict and won’t be there.
