Jammin' Java, Donatos Undercover and More Events This Weekend

Things to do this weekend in Vienna and beyond.

We're looking at a few scattered showers Saturday and Sunday, with daytime temperatures in the mid 60s. Monday, skies will clear a bit and high temperatures will be near 70. Overnight lows throughout the three-day weekend will be in the 50s.

Here are some of the things on tap this weekend in the region: 

Undercover Boss at Donatos in Vienna. Friday evening, join the local staff of Donatos in Vienna for a screening party of the CBS hit series "Undercover Boss." Donatos Chairwoman Jane Grote Abell went undercover in Vienna in July. Read more here. The screening will include pizza specials and giveaways. The show airs at 8 p.m.

Pounding the Keys. A busy weekend at Jammin' Java begins with two nights of Jon McLaughlin. The talented pianist and singer/songwriter just released his latest album, “Holding My Breath.” From $15. 8 p.m. Thursday and 7:30 p.m. Friday. Jammin Java, 227 Maple Avenue E., Vienna. Also at Jammin' Java this weekend: Mary Fahl and The Open Mic Comedy Tour on Saturday and New Authors Book Slam on Sunday.

Come and Get It. Young pop star Selena Gomez performs at the Patriot Center on Thursday. The Stars Dance Tour is in support of her latest album of the same name. Expect Top 40 hits like “Come and Get It.”  From $30.50. 7 p.m. Thursday. Patriot Center, 4400 University Drive, Fairfax.

Off the Wall, In The Barns. Jakob Dylan brings The Wallflowers to the Wolf Trap. The band is best known for ‘90s hits like “6th Avenue Heartache” and “One Headlight.” From $50. 8 p.m. Friday. The Barns at Wolf Trap, 1635 Trap Road, Vienna. Also at The Barns this weekend: Tim O’Brien and Darrell Scott on Thursday and The Bobs on Saturday.

Home for Dinner. The Workhouse Arts Center’s 2nd Saturday Art Walk will include a special opening reception for “Home for Dinner,” a new community action exhibition showcasing how the community can make a difference in the battle with hunger and homelessness. Visitors to the exhibit are encouraged to bring canned food. The exhibit runs through Dec. 1. Reception is 6-9 p.m. Saturday. Vulcan Gallery, 9601 Ox Road, Lorton.

Chockabl-Octoberfest. Reston Town Center will be full of fall season treats and autumn brews with Oktoberfest Reston. Hosted by the Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce, the three-day event includes food, beer, wine, live music, a carnival, the Anthem Great Pumpkin 5K and more. Free admission. 3-11 p.m. Friday; 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday; and noon to 8 p.m. Sunday. Reston Town Center, 11900 Market Street, Reston.
