John P. Hornak, 76, of Vienna

John P. Hornak passed away on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015, at his home in Vienna, Va.

Born in Pittsburgh, Penn. on July 7, 1939, he is survived by his wife of 48 years, Peggy; and daughters, Susan (Chris) Schools and Beth (Dave) Gillum; sister, Margaret (Vince) Madden and four grandchildren, Brett, Katie, Kelly and Natalie.

A graduate of the University of Notre Dame, he was at the time of his retirement Director of Consulting Support at the Department of Veterans Affairs. He was a past President of Westwood Country Club. John was an usher at St. Mark Catholic Church for over 40 years.

Family will receive friends at St. Mark Catholic Church, 9970 Vale Rd., Vienna, Va., on Thursday, Sept. 17 from 4-7 p.m. and where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Sept. 18 at 11 a.m. Private inurnment will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mark Catholic Church or the charity of ones choice in John’s memory.
