Varsity rower Madison Geib will compete at the Division 1 level in college.

From James Madison HS: A James Madison High School varsity rower has made her college choice official. Yesterday, senior Madison Geib signed a letter of intent to continue her educational and athletic rowing career at Stetson University in Florida next fall.

Madison began rowing in eighth grade and started taking the sport to the next level her freshman year when she joined the James Madison High School crew team. The co-ed MadCrew team is comprised of more than 70 athletes who train out of Sandy Run Regional Park on the Occoquan river.

“Being on the MadCrew team has helped me grow in many more ways than just as an athlete. This program has taught me what it means to be a good leader and the importance of being selfless, disciplined, as well as resilient. I have made so many incredible friends through this experience,” said Madison.

Rowers and coaches from the MadCrew team attended the signing on Monday to support Madison.
