New Concept Bloomie's To Open With Colada Shop At Mosaic District

MERRIFIELD, VA — The Mosaic District will be the first location of Bloomingdale's new concept store Bloomie's. The store is expected to open Aug. 26 and include local Cuban restaurant Colada Shop.

Bloomie's will be a scaled down concept of Bloomingdale's with a curated selection of top brands with a tech-enabled stylist service and a restaurant. The 22,000 square-foot store will feature women’s and men’s fashion and beauty brands.

Our new Bloomie’s store will deliver everything they love about Bloomingdale’s in a highly edited, convenient, and unexpected way," said Tony Spring, CEO of Bloomingdale’s, in a statement. "We’ve been part of the Washington, D.C., metro area community for decades, and we are excited to welcome new and longtime customers to Bloomie’s to be the first to shop this fresh and casual experience."

Products will include denim, active, intimates, shoes, handbags, beauty, and accessories such as eyewear, and fine jewelry. Women's brands cover apparel from Ganni, Staud, Maje, Rag & Bone, Cult Gaia, Jonathan Simkhai STANDARD, LoveShackFancy, Moussy, Mother, FRAME, RE/DONE, AQUA and more; and shoes from Stella McCartney, Jimmy Choo, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Proenza Schouler, MCM, Loeffler Randall, Birkenstock and Golden Goose.

Men’s and women’s activewear will include Adidas by Stella McCartney, Alo Yoga, Koral, Y-3, and Nike, as well wall displays of sneakers. Men's apparel, shoes, and accessories will include brands like Vince, Helmut Lang, Salomon, Barbour, and McQ.

Handbag brands include Mansur Gavriel, Marc Jacobs, and See by Chloe, while accessories come from Gucci, Celine, Dior, Saint Laurent, and Prada. Skincare, makeup, and fragrance brands will be La Mer, Dior, Dr. Barbara Sturm, Sunday Riley, Byredo, Diptyque, Creed, and Maison Francis Kurkdjian.

As the store will receive deliveries multiple times a week and rotating carts with new items, customers will find something new with every visit. Stylists will be on site to provide personalized guidance and help customers access special finds outside Bloomie’s. Customers can also request assistance in dressing rooms by pushing a button. Personalization, customization, and alteration service are also offered. The store will offer a return dropbox as well as in-store and curbside pickup through the front desk.

The shopping experience is paired with the newest location of Colada Shop. The DC-based Cuban cafe offers a menu of Cuban food, cocktails and coffee. This will be the only Northern Virginia location; there are DC locations at 14th Street and The Wharf, and a new location recently opened in Potomac, Maryland. A previous location in Sterling, Virginia closed.

Colada Shop inside Bloomie's will offer dining inside or on the outdoor patio.

Bloomie's will celebrate the opening with pre-opening activations at the Mosaic District throughout August. Grand opening festivities during the week of Aug. 26 will be announced at a later time.
