Patch Survey: How Do You Feel About Virginia School Reopenings?
Patch wants to know your thoughts on school reopenings as most school divisions in Virginia offer some form of in-person learning.

VIRGINIA — More school districts in Virginia are offering hybrid learning and are planning for the possibility of returning to five in-person days per week in the fall.
Last month, Gov. Ralph Northam advised school districts to offer some form of in-person learning by March 15, citing Centers for Disease Control and Prevention study indicating low risk of COVID-19 exposure and transmission with the proper protocols. Some Virginia students have been enrolled in virtual learning since mid-March 2020, when Northam ordered K-12 schools to close.
As of March 22, the Virginia Department of Education reported 38 school divisions are offering four or more days of in-person learning, and 50 are partially in-person with some students in schools four or more days. Northern Virginia's school divisions are among the 34 school divisions with hybrid learning (a mix of in-person and virtual). An additional seven are partially hybrid (typically younger grades in hybrid).

Three school districts remain fully virtual but have plans to offer some in-person learning by May 1. All Virginia school districts offer families the option of staying in virtual learning if they choose.
As more schools offer some in-person learning compared to previous months, Patch is surveying readers on their perception of in-person or hybrid learning and what school districts should offer in the fall. The survey is meant not to be a scientific poll, but only to give a broad idea of public sentiment.
