Rain Goes Away, Voter Registration Deadline, Planned Fire

Here's a look at your week ahead, Vienna: 

Today is Columbus Day. It’s a federal holiday, and the Town of Vienna offices will be closed. Refuse will be collected as normal. More information on what’s open and what’s closed for Columbus Day is available here.

There’s good news for people who are tired of the rain: That rain system that stalled over Northern Virginia and dropped seven straight days of rain is heading out. Expect partly-sunny skies most of this week and daytime temperatures in the low 70s.  Overnight lows will be in the 50s.

Tuesday is your last chance to make sure you’re registered to vote for the Nov. 5 general election. Here’s more info about how to make sure you’re registered and who (and what) is on the ballot in Vienna.

Also Tuesday, the Fairfax County Fire & Rescue Department’s Training Division will be hosting live fire training at 203 Battle Street SW. The training will be from about 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
