Patch: How long have you been selling real estate?
Peggy: I've been selling real estate for almost ten years in Virginia and have helped over 200 clients buy and sell real estate.

Patch: What attracted you to the real estate industry, and how did you get started?
Peggy: I had a nightmare experience with a real estate agent while I was buying my first home and I did not want that to happen to anyone else. So, I got my real estate license so I would know exactly what needed to be done to buy my own home. Then, I started helping others do it and really enjoyed it. Eventually, I left my government job to pursue real estate full time. Buying and selling a home is one of the biggest assets for someone and they deserve to have someone that knows what they are doing and can give them the best advice.
Patch: Do you have a specialty or niche market when it comes to your work in real estate?
Peggy: We work all over Arlington and Fairfax County. I also live near Tysons Corner so I am very familiar with all of the existing and new construction condos in Tysons Corner. While many agents may spread themselves thin by being licensed in all three jurisdictions (VA, MD and DC), we focus specifically on Northern Virginia and the local communities and market conditions here.

Patch: If you had to sum up your approach to real estate in five words, what would those words be?
Peggy: Superior client experience through expertise — Our value to clients is our expertise in the local real estate market and our goal is to create such a great client experience that they will tell all their friends and family about us!
Patch: What’s the biggest challenge or most difficult moment you’ve faced as a real estate agent?
Peggy: I think the biggest challenge is knowing that our clients rely on us to help them make decisions on one of the biggest assets they own. Having an agent that is an expert versus average could mean the difference between tens of thousands of dollars and whether the property even closes! That is a lot of responsibility to have, so you always have to be at the top of your game.
Patch: Is there a real estate deal over the span of your career that you have been most proud of?
Peggy: I helped a client sell their home last year in Bristow. He was recovering from a brain tumor and couldn’t work, so they needed to sell the home and get as much money out as possible. Not only were we able to sell it quickly and for top dollar, we also helped get repairs done, pack up the house and found a great agent in Maryland to help him buy another home. His wife was so thankful and crying at the closing table. It was really great to know how much of an impact we made on their lives.

Patch: What’s the most satisfying part of your job?
Peggy: For my buyer clients, the most satisfying part of this job is finding the perfect house for them and seeing the excitement in their eyes when they find "the one." For sellers, it is knowing that I was able to position their home in the best possible way to get them as much equity out of their house.
Patch: How do your techniques, strategies and services distinguish themselves from the competition?
Peggy: I am one of the few agents in Virginia certified in the 72SOLD Home Selling System. Unlike traditional real estate practices, 72SOLD-certified agents engage in front-loaded marketing efforts designed to create the highest competitive bidding environment and secure above-asking prices after just three days of property showings. 72SOLD real estate professionals identify potential home buyers before listings are announced on the market and use cutting edge marketing techniques to target advertisements quickly and efficiently. Upfront advertising combined with targeted marketing and a short window of opportunity helps flood the listing with potential buyers and achieve competitive bidding. 72SOLD’s compressed showing schedule is more convenient for home sellers and focuses on creating excitement in the market from Saturday to Monday, reducing the sales process from months to days.
Patch: Do you have any advice for readers who are currently in the process of buying or selling a home?
Peggy: Be sure to interview a few agents for the job and specifically ask about their recent experience and results since the market changes constantly. Not all agents are created equal and agents that have had their real estate license for many years may not have the best expertise navigating current market conditions. If you are selling your home, you should also ask how many homes in the last three months they have sold at or above the original list price and how long it took to sell. Some average agents will tell you they can sell your home at a very high price in order to win your business, but end up selling it for much less and for a longer period of time.

Patch: Do you have any upcoming open houses or events in your community?
Peggy: We don't have any open houses right now — we’ve sold all our December listings during our pre-launch or in the first weekend it was on the market.
