Shootings, Stabbing, Vehicle Chase: Fairfax County Police Blotter
Fairfax County Police responded to more than 8,400 calls over the past week and responded to reports of stolen vehicles, shootings and more.
VIENNA, VA – Fairfield County Police responded to more than 8,400 calls for service over the past week and dealt with anything from domestic-related incidents to car accidents and various other incidents that required police attention.
Here’s a look back at a summary of police activity since June 25 around the county. People who are arrested are presumed innocent until they are proven guilty.

- Total Domestic Related Calls for Service: 220
- Total Persons Experiencing Mental Health Crisis Calls for Service: 385
- Total Crash Calls for Service: 602

MISSLE INTO OCCUPIED DWELLING: 6800 Cottingham Lane, 4:07 a.m., June 26. The victim heard two gunshots then found a bullet lodged in his kitchen cabinet. No one was injured.
STOLEN AUTO RECOVERY: Braddock Road and Rt. 28, 6:30 p.m. July 1. Officers were notified by Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office about a stolen vehicle that entered our jurisdiction. Officers conducted a traffic stop and arrested Edwin Clemente Ayala, 25, of Sterling, who was charged with receiving stolen property.

MOUNT VERNON DISTRICT STATION
VEHICLE PURSUIT: 6100 block of Richmond Highway, 7:45 p.m., June 25. Officers observed an Audi Q7 which was stolen from a nearby community and attempted to stop the vehicle which resulted in a pursuit through our jurisdiction, Alexandria City, and eventually Arlington County where the pursuit ended. One person was taken into custody. Todd Lawton, 38, of Washington D.C. was arrested and charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle, receiving stolen goods and disregarding police signal to stop. He is facing additional charges from other jurisdictions.
SHOOTING: Dart Drive and Camelia Drive, 11:10 p.m., July 1. The victim was involved in a verbal altercation with two men at a nearby business. The victim left the area and was walking on Dart Drive when a car approached. The passenger of the car shot the victim. The victim was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life threatening.
RECKLESS DISCHARGE OF A FIREARM: 6200 block of Vista Drive, 7:02 p.m., June 25. Someone found a bullet which entered building and lodged in the staircase. No injuries were reported.
SHOOTING: 6100 block of Willston Drive, 6:00 a.m., June 28. The victim reported he was approached from behind by two men who displayed handguns then shot him. The victim was struck in the leg and treated at the hospital for injuries not considered life threatening.
STABBING: 7100 block of Leesburg Pike, 6:09 p.m., June 28. A man was arguing with staff from a nearby business when the victim attempted to intervene. The man stabbed the victim in the upper body and ran from the store. Billy Everett, 58, of Alexandria, was found nearby and arrested. He was charged with malicious wounding. The victim was taken to the hospital with injuries that are not life threatening.
RECKLESS DISCHARGE OF A FIREARM: 2900 block of Patrick Henry Drive, 9:21 p.m., June 28. A community member reported hearing several gunshots from the parking lot. Officers found a vehicle had been damaged and cartridge cases nearby. No one was reported to be injured.
ROBBERY: 6000 block of Bellview Drive, 8:20 p.m., June 28. Three men approached the victim, displayed guns and demanded property. The victim was assaulted and one suspect discharged his firearm which did not strike the victim. The victim reported injuries that were not life threatening.
RESTON DISTRICT STATION
ATTEMPTED ROBBERY: Clubhouse Road & North Shore Drive, 4:53 a.m., July 1. A man entered the victim’s car and was rummaging through it when the victim returned. The man tried to assault the victim and left. Before officers arrived, the man approached a couple, demanded money, and tried to assault them. Officers found Korben Sparks, 23, of Centreville nearby and arrested him. He was charged with attempted robbery and vehicle trespass. No injuries were reported.
COMMERCIAL BURGLARY: 3903 M Fair Ridge Drive (Avail Vape), 12:33 a.m., June 27. Someone forced entry into the business and took property.
