Taste of Vienna 2013 [Photos]

Second annual event raised money for the Vienna Volunteer Fire Department.

After a 2012 debut marked by clouds and a surprise storm, Taste of Vienna  returned for a second year Saturday to sunny skies and unseasonably warm weather — paving way for what organizers said was a record turnout.

Twenty-eight restaurants served up small plates, sweets, beverages beer and wine at the event in the Vienna Volunteer Fire Department's parking lot.

Festival-goers enjoyed a full line-up of musical performances throughout the day, along with a moon bounce and face painting for the kids. Some Redskins cheerleaders also made an appearance in the VivaTysons booth.

While no headcount was available at press time, some volunteers predicted around 2 p.m. Saturday turnout had already surpassed that of the previous year's festival.

"@ViennaPatch#tasteofvienna is really rocking over there. Vienna is the place to be this afternoon," PurePasty tweeted midway through the festival.

Proceeds from the event helped support the Vienna Volunteer Fire Department. Volunteers sold 50/50 raffle tickets, tumblers with the department's original logo and a cookbook with local recipes.
