Thursday: Vienna Green Expo Returns to Town

More than 35 local businesses, groups and individuals will show off their efforts toward a green lifestyle at the Vienna Community Center.

Looking for more ways to go green in Vienna?

On Thursday, residents have a chance to gather with neighbors, friends, businesses and community groups at the town's fifth annual Vienna Green Expo, which aims to educate those that attend on how to achieve a green lifestyle.

This year, more than 35 exhibitors will provide information and demonstrations on all aspects of more sustainable living, from buying local and organic food products, to innovations in recycling and sustainable gardens and improving energy efficiency, including through transportation like bikes and electric cars.

The  event isn't just geared toward adults: students of all ages can get in on the fun, too.

Expos of years past have featured several student inventions and new initiatives. The CEC also created a Green Expo "passport" children can get stamped at each of the exhibits. Completed passports can be turned in for a chance to bring prizes.
