Town of Vienna to Host Kids Adventure Race

The race takes place rain or shine and is open to children ages 5-13.

Competitors are sure to finish the Town of Vienna’s 2016 Kids Adventure Race filthy and smiling. The nearly one-mile race through fields, mud, tires and obstacles is open to children ages 5-13. The race will take place rain or shine at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13 at Southside Park, 1315 Ross Dr.

Advance registration is required as there is no registration the day of the race. The fee to enter is $7, and participants will receive a race t-shirt. Register at Vienna Parks and Recreation Offices at 262 Cedar Ln. or via WebTrac on the city website.

All course obstacles are made by parks and recreation staff and may involve hay bales and water hoses.

Parents may want to bring a couple of towels with them, one for your child and another to protect your car seats on the way home.

“We do hose the kids off at the end,” laughed Recreation Program Coordinator Brandy Wyatt. “It’s a messy, muddy, good time.”
