Traffic Alert: I-66 Ramp To Chain Bridge Road To Be Closed
A ramp from I-66 to southbound Route 123 will be closed at midnight Monday as VDOT crews work on a highway project.

OAKTON, VA — As part of the state's effort to upgrade Interstate 66, the ramp from eastbound I-66 to southbound Chain Bridge Road (Route 123) will be closed for several hours after midnight Monday, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT). The closure is needed to allow VDOT crews to place concrete barriers along previously shifted lanes on I-66 for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.
The project will be rescheduled if inclement weather occurs, VDOT said.
The closure will begin at midnight Monday and run until to 4 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11. Traffic will be detoured to Nutley Street (Exit 62) and directed to follow signs to westbound I-66 back to a different ramp to southbound Route 123.
