Vienna Holiday Decorating Contest Open To Residents, Businesses

VIENNA, VA — Vienna residents and businesses are invited to participate in a holiday decorating contest to bring the spirit of the season to town in December.

Hosted by the Town Business Liaison Committee, the contest will kick off on Dec. 1 with entries submitted by Dec. 7. Businesses within the Town of Vienna limits can sign up to participate anytime through Dec. 7. Decorations must be up and photos must be submitted by that time.

The theme of this year's contest is "Light Up Vienna." Decorations must be visible from the street or sidewalk.

Town of Vienna residents will vote for their favorite determine the business and resident winners for the People's Choice awards starting on Dec. 8. Residential applicants will be judged in the following categories: single-family home, townhome, condo, or apartment/patio. First, second, and third place awards will be given to businesses.

Residents will be invited to take a self-guided tour of the participating homes and businesses. A porch parade route and link to vote will be provided by Dec. 8 at viennava.gov/holiday.

The deadline to vote is midnight on Dec. 16. Winners of the People’s Choice awards will be announced on social media on Dec. 17. The winning business will get one hour of time from Mayor Linda Colbert as a guest employee during the holiday season. Resident winners will receive gift card prizes from local businesses.
