VIENNA, VA — The Vienna Police Department has moved to a temporary location at the Faith Baptist Church acquired by the town government.

The building at 301 Center Street South is serving as location with construction on the new police station expected to get underway soon. The location is near the current police station at 215 Center Street South.

The temporary relocation will not affect police operations and responses. The dispatch center remains operational. Non-emergency matters can be directed to the police department at 703-255-6366.

The town government approved the purchase of the Faith Baptist Church location last August. The town has not decided on a use for the property beyond the police department's temporary use, but it will likely involve a community purpose.

The new police station, once completed, will provide space needed for additional staffing and technology requirements, as well as community space. The police department's criminal investigations section has been in Town Hall rather than the police station since 2007.
