Vienna School Sends Off Students With 'Drive Bye' Parade
Teachers and students got to see each other after the pandemic ended the school year early.
VIENNA, VA — A Christian school in Vienna held a drive-by parade to let students and teachers see each other one more time last Thursday after the coronavirus crisis cut the school year short.
The "drive bye" celebration at Holy Comforter Preschool and Kindergarten featured teachers, parents and students sharing goodbyes and well-wishes from their cars. Signs with messages of gratitude greeted students and teachers alike in the parking lot.
"COVID kept them out of the building but not out of our hearts, said Linda Meyers, the school's director. "Our teachers were so thankful to see their students in person and not through Zoom!"
