Vienna 'WOW' House: Booming Construction

This week’s Vienna “WOW” house: The 50-something Craftsman style homes on the market for $1 million and up.

When it comes to looking for a new home in the Vienna area, there are plenty of new homes being built for those who want something new with all the bells and whistles.

Currently, in and around town, you’ll find about 50 homes in Vienna either built, being built or planning to be built all in the $2 million to $1 million range. Many of the homes are spacious and feature open kitchens overlooking family rooms, wood floors and front porches.

The most expensive on the market is one planned for 9018 Old Courthouse Road on a 1.53-acre lot. With six bedrooms and 5.5 baths, the asking price is $2,229,000. The architectural style? Transitional, with lots of main-floor options.

Another home to be built, by Vienna-based Wetherburne Homes for $2,095,000, is at 517 Nelson Dr., closer to town. The home features 5 bedrooms and 5.5 baths, described as a Craftsman style, a popular style among the homes being built in Vienna.

One of the “least expensive” among the 50 or so new homes? 1205 Cottage St., for $1,099,000.
