What's Open, Closed In Vienna For Martin Luther King Jr. Day 2020
Some services will be closed for the federal holiday commemorating Martin Luther King Jr. Plus see events and volunteer opportunities.

The Town of Vienna and Fairfax County recognize Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, Jan. 20, and various services will have schedule changes. King's birthday is Jan. 15, but the federal holiday honoring the civil rights leader falls on a Monday in January.
We've rounded up schedule changes affecting Vienna for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The town and county have not announced closings for the state Lee-Jackson Day on Friday, Jan. 17, but the holiday impacts state government services.

Town of Vienna and Fairfax County Government offices: Closed on Jan. 20.
State courts: Circuit Court, General District Court and Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court are closed Jan. 17 and 20.

Fairfax County Public Schools: Closed Jan. 20.
Community centers: The Vienna Community Center will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Jan. 20. Fairfax County Neighborhood and Community Services (NCS) programs, activities and facilities will be closed Jan. 18-20.
Fairfax Connector and Fastran: Fairfax Connector bus service will operate holiday weekday service on Jan. 20. See www.fairfaxcounty.gov/connector for more information.
Libraries: Patrick Henry Library and all other Fairfax County libraries are closed on Jan. 20.
Metrorail: On Jan. 20, Metrorail will be open 5 a.m.-11:30 p.m. on a Saturday schedule. Parking will be free at all Metro parking facilities, and off-peak fares will be in effect all day. On Jan. 18-20, the Silver Spring, Forest Glen and Wheaton stations will be closed. Free shuttle buses replace Red Line trains between Takoma and Glenmont. Single tracking will happen between Medical Center and Grosvenor. Regular service will run on all other Metro lines. For more information, visit www.wmata.com.
Metrobus: Buses will operate on a Saturday supplemental schedule on Jan. 20. See bus timetables.
Parks: Colvin Run Mill, Sully Historic Site and the Historic House at Green Spring Gardens will be closed on Jan. 20. All other Fairfax County Park Authority parks will be open. Visit www.fairfaxcounty.gov/parks/holiday-hours for more information.
Post offices: Closed Jan. 20.
Recreation centers: All RECenters are open regular hours on Jan. 20.
Trash and recycling: Town of Vienna collections will happen as scheduled. There is no change to Fairfax County collection, but the Customer Service Center is closed on Jan. 20. Contact private collectors for service changes. The I-66 Transfer Station (4618 West Ox Road) and the I-95 Landfill Complex (9850 Furnace Road) are open regular hours.
