Christmas tree sales are starting in and around Vienna. Here are some local options to support.

VIENNA, VA — With Thanksgiving come and gone, some families will look to put up their Christmas trees for the season.

Whether you're an early decorator or want to know your options for later in December, there are Christmas trees for sale around Vienna. You'll have to go out of town if you prefer a cut-your-own tree farm, but there are various pre-cut options in town.

Optimist Club of Greater Vienna: Opens Nov. 28

  • Location: Maple Avenue East and Branch SE, Vienna (corner near Giant Food, next to PNC Bank)
  • Hours: Weekdays from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., weekends 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • More information: Christmas tree sales support the Optimist Club's Youth Fund, which funds awards, grants and scholarships for kids in the greater Vienna area.

Vienna Host Lions Club: Opens Nov. 28 through mid-December

  • Location: 225 Maple Ave East, Vienna (Walgreens parking lot)
  • Hours: Weekdays from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Sundays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • More information: Prices start at $65, proceeds benefit projects relating to youth, sight and hearing in Vienna and the surrounding area. Masks are required.

Depaul's Urban Farm: Open daily with Christmas trees in stock

  • Location: 2599 Chain Bridge Road, Vienna
  • Hours: Open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily
  • More information: Fresh-cut fraser firs, along with wreaths, garlands and other items

Vale United Methodist Church: Opens Nov. 27

  • Location: 11528 Vale Road, Oakton
  • Hours: Nov. 27 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturdays: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sundays 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., weekdays from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • More information: Purchase provide 100 meals for hungry children and families around the world and locally. All Christmas tree sale proceeds are used to purchase ingredients for the annual Rise Against Hunger food packaging event and fund efforts to fight hunger in Fairfax County. Trees available include Fraser, Douglas, Canaan, Concolor, Turkish, Noble and Balsam. Wreaths, pine roping, and tree stands are also sold.

Meadows Farms Nurseries and Landscape

  • Location: 10618 Leesburg Pike, Vienna
  • Hours: Open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • More information: Check the business website for information on availability of Christmas trees. Cut and live trees will be offered, along with other items such as poinsettias.

Merrifield Garden Center

  • Location: 8132 Lee Highway, Falls Church or 12101 Lee Highway, Fairfax
  • Hours: Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Sundays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • More information: Choose from a variety of real and artificial trees, along with Christmas decor

George C. Marshall Boosters: Opens Nov. 28 through Dec. 20

  • Location: Idylwood Presbyterian Church, 7617 Idylwood Road, Falls Church
  • Hours: Weekdays from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sundays from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • More information: Shop early due to the limited supply of Christmas trees. There are also wreaths, garland, tree stands, White House ornaments and spirit apparel.
