After-School Program Slots Available in Power-Up, Power-On
The city's Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities oversees the programs, which offer after school programming until 6 p.m.

Spaces are still available for the city’s after-school program for elementary and middle school students.
The Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities hosts the Power-On and Power-Up Out of School Time Programs.
The program is available at the Charles Barrett, Charles Houston, Cora Kelly, Nannie J. Lee, Patrick Henry, and William Ramsay recreation centers as well as the John Adams and MacArthur after school centers and the GW and Hammond Power-Up Programs.

Registration at the Mt. Vernon Recreation Center is currently closed, but a wait list is available.Â
Registration forms are available at the Lee Center, 1108 Jefferson St., City Recreation Centers, or by visiting Power-On and Power-Up website. The program fee is $300 for the school year and there is a discount if a family registers more than one child. New this year is a late fee. Parents picking up their child after 6 p.m. will be assessed a $5 late fee for every 10 minutes they are late.
To register online, click the WebTrac button by visiting www.alexandriava.gov/Recreation.  Online registration requires full payment.Â
Fee assistance is available to qualified families who can register at the recreation centers or Lee Center with documentation for free/reduced school lunch, SNAP, or TANF.
