The 4th of July holiday weekend is nearly upon us and sometimes the information surrounding big holidays can be a little overwhelming. We’re consolidating a lot of that information into this handy guide that will help you get through the long holiday weekend. Happy Fourth!

Transportation
- DASH will operate a Sunday schedule in observance of the Independence Day Holiday on Friday, July 3. DASH will operate on a Saturday schedule on Saturday, July 4.
- King Street Trolley Service Schedule: The trolley operates daily, every 15 minutes, between the King Street Metro to the waterfront. Sunday - Wednesday: 10 a.m. - 10:15 p.m.; Thursday - Saturday: 10 a.m. - 12 a.m.

- Parking in Alexandria: On July 3 and 4, the Alexandria Police Department will suspend enforcement of parking restrictions at all metered spaces, as well as time restrictions in residential permit parking districts and other areas with signed parking time limits.

Fireworks in the City of Alexandria
- It is unlawful for any person to store, offer for sale, sell at retail, use or explode any fireworks (including sparklers) within the City limits. Offenses are Class One misdemeanors in the City of Alexandria and are punishable by a $2,500 fine and/or up to 12 months in prison. Fireworks violations may be reported to the Alexandria Fire Department at 703-746-5227or the Alexandria Police Department at 703.746.4444 .

- All City of Alexandria government offices will be closed on Friday, July 3, in observance of the Independence Day holiday. Here’s more information about what’s open and what’s closed for the holiday in the City.

- Independence Day: Showers and thunderstorms likely. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 81. Chance of precipitation is 60%. A chance of showers and thunderstorms Saturday night. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 66. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
- Sunday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 85. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Sunday night it will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 68.
