Alexandria Affordable Housing Complex Prepares For Spring Opening
The Spire is taking applications from families making 40 percent to 60 percent of the area median income.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Affordable housing developer AHC Inc. plans to open The Spire, an affordable apartment community in Alexandria, in April 2021. Applications are being accepted for the apartment community.
Located at 2875 North Beauregard Street in the West End of Alexandria, The Spire will have 113 units. Rent packages will range from 40 to 60 percent of the area median income, and 12 apartments are made affordable to lower incomes through a $350,000 rental assistance grant from the city.
The community has one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom apartments with amenities like underground parking, a community room, a fitness center and a landscaped terrace. Apartments have Energy Star-certified kitchen appliances, and individually controlled high-efficiency HVAC systems.

"Throughout the planning phases of all our developments, we keep resident quality of life front and center," said John Welsh, vice president of multifamily development at AHC Inc., in a statement. "That not only includes their experience inside their apartments and in the common areas, but also in their neighborhoods. The Spire has close access to transit systems and jobs to further stimulate professional and personal growth for everyone living in this new community."
Planning for The Spire started in 2014 when the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection decided to redevelop their property with an affordable housing complex and a smaller worship space. The church’s congregation unanimously voted to approve the project.
