Alexandria City Schools Make March 22 Weather Decision
Schools will open late as hazardous conditions on roads could continue into Thursday.

Alexandria City Public Schools will open two hours late Thursday, March 22 as hazardous conditions from the winter storm could continue into Thursday.
Kindergarten through grade 12, Virginia Preschool Initiative (VPI) students and non-essential employees will report two hours later than regular opening time. Morning pre-K programs (Early Childhood Special Education and Preschoolers Learning Together) starts two hours later and dismisses one hour later than usual. Afternoon pre-K reports one hour later than usual. Essential employees will report on time.
The winter storm warning for Alexandria will expire at 8 p.m. Wednesday, but roads could refreeze overnight and become slippery. Patch will provide an update if ACPS changes the weather decision.

If school isn't cancelled, students have two school days before their March 26-30 spring break.
