UPDATE: Alexandria Rec Center Reopens, Power Back On
A power outage hit the rec center and school Wednesday morning.
ALEXANDRIA, VA -- William Ramsay Elementary School remains closed Wednesday after a power outage, Alexandria City Public Schools announced this morning.
The school is located at 5700 Sanger Ave. in Alexandria's West End (see map below).
Also Wednesday, the William Ramsay Recreation Center was also closed due to a power failure, the City said, but the rec center has now reopened.

The William Ramsay Recreation Center and Jerome Buddie Ford Nature Center are open and programs will occur as scheduled for the remainder of the day, according to the City. Contact the center for additional information.
No reason was given as to what caused the power outages. ACPS said they will update with new information as they find out more.
