For Immediate Release: June 10, 2021

The
Alexandria Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance with our
investigation into an incident involving some of the Pride flags in Market
Square.

Investigators are looking for the individual(s) who removed
several Pride flags and threw them into the fountain at Market Square, outside
of City Hall, at 301 King Street. The
flags were believed to be taken down between 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 5,
2021, and 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 6, 2021.
The flags have since been replaced.

The Alexandria Police Department is urging anyone who was
in the area and witnessed the incident or has information regarding the
individual(s) involved to contact Detective Darryl Ferrer at 703.746.6723 or
