Alexandria Police Reports: Multiple Vehicle Thefts

The Alexandria Police Department reported the following crimes in the West End of Alexandria in the past week.

Note: The addresses listed below indicates blocks and not specific addresses of incidents. Where an arrest is mentioned, it does not necessarily indicate a conviction.

Alexandria police are investigating a number of motor vehicle thefts that occurred on the West End this past week.

The first incident occurred at 9:07 a.m. March 26 in the 4500 block of King Street. The victim reported someone had stolen his vehicle from a lot.

Four incidents occurred March 27. The first was reported at 7:27 a.m. from the 6000 block of Edsall Road. The second was reported at 8:26 a.m. from the 4700 block of West Braddock Road. A third incident was a motorcycle theft that occurred at 7:13 p.m. from the 5400 block of Duke Street.

Also on March 27, a vehicle was reported stolen at 9:34 a.m. from the 5100 block of Fillmore Avenue. A recently placed parking enforcement boot was removed from a vehicle owned by a subject who acquired numerous parking violations. The boot and vehicle were gone from the original location.

Another vehicle was reported stolen at 3:01 p.m. March 29 from the 200 block of South Van Dorn Street. A vehicle theft was reported at 6:30 p.m. the same day from the 4300 block of King Street.

The following crimes were reported in separate and unrelated incidents:

March 27

  • 9:20 a.m. March 27, 4900 block of Seminary Road, destruction/damage/vandalism of property, larceny/theft, pending. Victim reported unknown suspect/s damaged the driver's side door handle and punched the ignition in an attempt to steal her vehicle. Suspect/s did steal two GPS units, a coin purse and coins.
  • 3:05 p.m. March 27, 700 block of North Paxton Street, destruction/damage/vandalism of property, pending. Unknown suspect/s smashed a basement window in victim's residence, but no entry was made.
  • 2:41 p.m. March 27, Canterbury Square, fraud, open.
  • 10:02 p.m. March 27, 400 block of South Whiting Street, assault, open.

March 28

  • 9:46 p.m. March 28, 300 block of South Whiting Street, larceny/theft, pending.
  • 2:33 p.m. March 28, Canterbury Square, fraud, open.
  • 12:54 p.m. March 28, 4300 block of Seminary Road, fraud, pending.
  • 12:22 p.m. March 28, 100 block of South Jordan Street, assault, pending.

March 29

  • 2:47 p.m. March 29, 300 block of North Ripley Street, destruction/damage/vandalism of property, pending.
  • 11:59 a.m. March 29, 3700 block of Fort Worth Avenue, destruction/damage/vandalism of property, pending.

March 30

  • 8:09 p.m. March 30, 2900 block of South Dinwiddie Street, fraud, pending.
  • 9:51 a.m. March 30, 6000 block of North Morgan Street, larceny/theft, pending.
  • 9:27 a.m. March 30, 400 block of North Armistead Street, destruction/damage/vandalism of property, pending.
  • 1:54 p.m. March 30, 100 block of South Bragg Street, destruction/damage/vandalism of property, open.
  • 9:27 a.m. March 30, 400 block of North Armistead Street, destruction/damage/vandalism of property, pending.
  • 1 a.m. March 30, 5700 block of Edsall Road, larceny/theft, open.
  • 5:39 a.m. March 30, 6100 block of Edsall Road, assault, pending.
  • 1:39 p.m. March 30, 4800 block of Eisenhower Avenue, larceny/theft, pending.
  • 2:03 p.m. March 30, 4400 block of Taney Avenue, assault, pending.

March 31

  • 2:05 p.m. March 31, 2600 block of Park Center Drive, larceny/theft, open.
