Alexandria Police Reports: Two Robberies Reported

Note: The addresses listed below indicates blocks and not specific addresses of incidents. Where an arrest is mentioned, it does not necessarily indicate a conviction.

Alexandria police are investigating two robberies that occurred during the past week in the West End.

The first offense was reported at 10:19 a.m. April 22 in the 300 block of South Reynolds Street. The robber approached a man, took his cell phone and ran. The man was possibly known to the victim, police said.

The victim then told the other man be would call police, at which point the robber returned the phone, police said.

A second robbery was reported at 7:38 p.m. Friday in the 400 block of North Van Dorn Street Police said a woman was walking when a stranger driving a black four-door vehicle pulled up alongside her.  

A man exited the vehicle, approached the woman and stole her purse before returning to the vehicle and driving away.

• 10 a.m. April 20, 5400 block of Sheffield Court, assault, pending. Assault occurred between two or more people who had a prior relationship or were known to each other.
• 10:28 p.m. April 20, 400 block of North Armistead Street, larceny/theft, open.

April 21

• 9:56 a.m. April 21, 4700 block of Kenmore Avenue, motor vehicle theft, pending. Victim reported unknown suspect/s stole his motorcycle from his apartment complex parking lot.
• 4:12 p.m. April 21, 200 block of Yoakum Parkway, larceny/theft, pending. Unknown suspect/s stole the company license plate from victim's vehicle.
• 9:52 p.m. April 21, 6000 block of Edsall Road, destruction/damage/vandalism of property, pending. Victim reported unknown suspect/s broke the rear window of his vehicle.
• 10:51 p.m. April 21, 5300 block of Duke Street, motor vehicle theft, pending.

April 22

• 2:27 p.m. April 22, 2300 block of North Early Street, larceny/theft. Victim reported unknown suspect/s entered her unlocked vehicle parked in front of her residence and stole coins and victim's wallet. The wallet was found minus the cash that was in it.
• 12:47 p.m. April 22, 2400 block Menokin Drive, larceny/theft, pending. Victim reported unknown suspect/s entered his unlocked vehicle parked in the apartment lot and stole coins and two screwdrivers and a hammer.
• 10:04 p.m. April 22, 300 block of Yoakum Parkway, fraud, open.
• 10:20 a.m. April 22, 200 block of Gretna Green Court, larceny/theft, pending. Victim reported unknown suspect/s entered her locked vehicle and stole a cloth bag containing lug nuts while the vehicle was parked in her allotted space in the condominium garage.
• 5:23 p.m. April 22, 3900 block of West Braddock Road, all other offenses, pending. To protect the victim's privacy, the narrative for this case is not available at this time.

April 23

• 8:07 p.m. April 23, 3300 block of King Street, larceny/theft, open.
• 3:08 p.m. April 23, 300 block of Yoakum Parkway, fraud, pending. Victim reported that their identity has been stolen and used for fraudulent activity
• 3:47 p.m. April 23, 6100 block of Edsall Road, assault, pending.
• 7:21 p.m. April 23, 300 block of South Reynolds Street, trespass of real property, open. Trespassing on property after having been previously barred.
• 2 p.m. April 23, 5000 block of Duke Street, larceny/theft, pending.
• 4:24 p.m. April 23, 4500 block of Holmes Run Parkway, destruction/damage/vandalism of property, open. Graffiti was reported on the walk/run/bike path under the Duke Street overpass.

April 24

• 8:48 p.m. April 24, 2600 block of Park Center Drive, larceny/theft, pending. Two victims reported unknown suspect/s stole an expensive pair of shoes and cash from their apartment.
• 9 a.m. April 24, 4600 block of Seminary Road, trespass of real property, arrest. Trespassing on property after having been previously barred.
• 8:59 p.m. April 24, 300 block of South Whiting Street, larceny/theft, pending.
• 9:05 p.m. April 24, 4400 block of Wheeler Avenue, assault, open.

April 25

• 1:13 p.m. April 25, 1200 block of Quaker Lane, embezzlement, pending. Employee theft.
• 8:16 p.m. April 25, 3600 block of King Street, larceny/theft, open. Shoplifting offense occurred at this location.
• 2:34 p.m. April 25, 4600 block of Seminary Road, larceny/theft, open. Unknown suspect/s stole victim's cell phone left unattended in a classroom while she was at band practice.

April 26
