Alexandria Runners Compete in Boston Marathon
No word on whether runners were injured in explosions near the finish line.

The 117th Boston Marathon took place beginning Monday morning with 26 seconds of silence to honor Sandy Hook victims, and about three hours after the first runners finished up, there were reports of explosions near the finish line.
The Patriot-Ledger is reporting two booms were heard from inside the Fairmount Copley Hotel near the finish line on Boylston Street. There are also reports of multiple serious injuries, but no word yet on how many people were injured, or whether those injured were spectators or runners.Â

Lelisa Desisa Benti was the men's winner of the Boston Marathon Monday morning with Rita Jeptoo winning the women's division, according to The Washington Post.
Benti, of Ethiopia, won the 117th Boston Marathon race with a time of 2 hours, 10 minutes and 22 seconds. This was his second marathon after winning a marathon earlier this year in Dubai.
