Brandywine Assisted Living Facility Opens In Alexandria

The new assisted living facility includes a movie theater, therapy pool and restaurant-style dining.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—Brandywine Living at Alexandria held its grand opening on Thursday, June 7.

The six-story assisted living community includes 116 suites above ground level retail and below grade parking. Residents will have amenities such as a therapy pool, gym, interior and exterior courtyards, private dining room, a movie theater, pub and beauty salon. Its resident programs offer educational, entertainment, and health and wellness choices tailored to each resident’s needs and desires.

“The Brandywine Alexandria project was Donohoe’s first opportunity to work with the folks from Brandywine Senior Living and deliver their 29th facility in their portfolio, but first in the Washington DC market,” said Tim Loftus, Vice President of Donohoe Construction Company.

Around 300 guests attended the grand opening, which included remarks by Brenda Bacon and and Alexandria Mayor Allison Silberberg.

The project broke ground in July of 2016 and received its Certificate of Occupancy in February this
year. The building is LEED Silver certified.
