Bridge Repairs To Happen On Van Dorn Street In Alexandria
Drivers should anticipate lane closures on Van Dorn Street north of the Metro station.
ALEXANDRIA, VA — If you're driving around the Van Dorn Street Metro over the weekend, construction work will impact traffic. The City of Alexandria announced lane closures for bridge repair work on Saturday, Sept. 14.
Southbound lanes of South Van Dorn Street will be closed between Courtney Avenue and Metro Road. Not all lanes will be closed at one time. The right two southbound lanes will close at 5 a.m. and reopen at 1 p.m., while the the left southbound lane will be closed from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Drivers may encounter congestion in the area and are asked to follow detours and traffic pattern changes.
